→ The conceptual and legal framework for small and ancillary industrial undertakings is derived from the Industrial Development and Regulation Act, 1951.
→ The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Bill, 2005 which was enacted in June 2006 was renamed as “Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act 2006”.
→ MSMED Act, 2006, main aim is the promotion and development of small and medium enterprises in India.
→ As per MSMED Act, 2006, MSMEs are classified into two categories.They are :
a) Manufacturing Enterprises
b) Service Enterprises.
→ Manufacturing enterprises are those enterprises that are engaged in the manufacturing or production of goods or commodities. On the base of investment made in plant and machinery, manufacturing enterprises are categorized into micro, small and medium enterprises.
→ Service enterprises involved in providing or rendering of services. On the base of investment made in equipment, service enterprises are divided into micro, small and medium service enterprises.
→ MSMEs contribute nearly 8% of our country’s GDP, 45% of manufacturing output and 40% of exports. They provide the largest share of employment after agriculture.
→ The Government offered some privileges to MSMEs for their promotion, growth and development.
TS Inter 1st Year Commerce Notes Chapter 10 సూక్ష్మ, చిన్న, మధ్య తరహా సంస్థలు
→ చిన్నతరహా, మధ్యతరహా అభివృద్ధి, 2005 బిల్లు – జూన్ 2006లో “సూక్ష్మ, చిన్న, మధ్యతరహా అభివృద్ధి చట్టం, 2006” గా ఏర్పడినది. దీని ఉద్దేశ్యము భారతదేశములో చిన్న, మధ్యతరహా సంస్థల ప్రోత్సాహకానికి, అభివృద్ధికి సహకరించడము.
→ MSME చట్టం, 2006 ప్రకారము MSMEలను రెండు రకాలుగా వర్గీకరించడమైనది. అవి ఉత్పత్తి సంస్థలు, సేవా సంస్థలు. ఈ సంస్థలు ప్లాంటు – యంత్రాలలో పెట్టుబడి పరిమితి ఆధారముగా నిర్వహించబడినది.
→ భారత ప్రభుత్వము ఈ సంస్థల ప్రోత్సాహకానికి, అభివృద్ధికి, ఆధునీకరణకు కొన్ని వసతులు, సౌలభ్యాలు అందజేస్తుంది.
→ ఈ MSMEలు దేశ స్థూల జాతీయ ఆదాయములో 8 % వాటా, తయారీ ఉత్పత్తులలో 45 % వాటా, ఎగుమతులలో 40 % వాటాను అందిస్తాయి. ఇవి ఉద్యోగ కల్పనలో వ్యవసాయం తర్వాత అత్యధిక స్థానాన్ని ఆశ్రమించినవి.
